Another Comeback Tie for Boys' Varsity Soccer Team

For the second time in the past week, the boys' varsity soccer game overcame a two-goal deficit to salvage a draw by tying host Hedgesville (WV) high school 3-3 September 20.

The Eagles scored early but Simon Brennan '26 pulled the Blue storm even before halftime by scoring off a Max Strauss '25 assist. After Mercersburg failed to convert on a penalty kick opportunity, Hedgesville scored twice to take a 3-1 lead. Similar to the Perkiomen game, Dylan Stiffler '24 was then moved forward, and scored two quick goals to tie the game. Stiffler had a chance for a game-winner that was blocked on a nice slide tackle from a hustling Hedgesville defender.

The Storm is now 2-1-2 with a MAPL contest at Hun (Princeton, NJ) on Saturday, September 23 at 12:30 pm.
