We know it’s routine, but this is where your Mercersburg journey begins. This form is the first step in getting to know Mercersburg and Mercersburg getting to know you. You will be paired with one of our admission counselors, who will help you start the application process.

Schedule an interview

In order to get to know prospective students during the application process, Mercersburg Academy asks that all applicants complete an interview before the application deadline of January 15.

During the interview, the student meets one-on-one with an admission counselor to learn about Mercersburg and share how they see themselves contributing to the school community. Parents and guardians will also meet with the admission counselor to ensure all questions about the school and application process are answered.

Interviews are typically combined with campus visits/tours and can be scheduled by contacting the Admission Office at 717-328-6173 or admission@mercersburg.edu. Appointment times are typically available on weekdays in the morning or afternoon.

Please note: all international students with citizenship in China, Hong Kong, or South Korea must schedule their interview through Vericant, a trusted video interview service. The Vericant session fulfills the interview requirement for the application.

Complete any standardized testing

With the understanding that not all students have equal access to standardized testing, Mercersburg Academy is “testing preferred” but not required.

Applicants for Grade 9 or 10
Students applying for 9th or 10th grade are not required to submit standardized test scores.

Applicants for Grade 11, 12, or PG
Students applying for 11th grade, 12th grade, or a postgraduate year must submit a PSAT, ACT, or SAT score report with their application.

International Applicants
International applicants must demonstrate proficiency in oral and written English. For applicants whose native language is not English, applicants are required to submit results from the TOEFL (minimum score: 100), Duolingo, or IELTS exam. (Students who have been enrolled for three or more years in a school where English is the primary mode of instruction are not required to submit language proficiency test scores.)

Submit your application

We accept applications through the Standard Application Online and Gateway to Prep Schools. (Note that day students are required to submit their application through the Standard Application Online.) Please submit your materials by the January 15 deadline to ensure full consideration of your application. The application fee is $50 for domestic students and $100 for international students.

The application fee may be waived in cases of demonstrated financial need. For more information, contact your admission counselor.

• Standardized test scores (preferred)

Fill out a financial aid application

We are committed to making Mercersburg Academy accessible for families of all socioeconomic profiles. If you are interested in being considered for need-based financial aid, you must complete an application through Clarity, a third party that offers a secure and streamlined online process.

The application takes less than 30 minutes to complete, and your family’s tax and income documentation will be automatically transferred to Clarity from the IRS with your approval. The deadline for financial aid applications is January 15.
