Golf holds a distinctive place in Mercersburg’s athletic history, with origins that date to the Academy’s early years in the 1890s.
Longtime coach Dick Decker’s squads claimed titles in Mercersburg’s first league affiliation, the Mid-Atlantic Conference, in the 1990s.
The Storm has posted an unbeaten streak in the Independent-Parochial School League Championships and produced a second-place finish at the PAISAA State Championships. More recently, the boys team won the 2024 Tri-County Invite.
The competition schedule features both league and non-league opponents throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and culminates with the PAISAA State Championships and Mid-Atlantic Prep League Championships.
Mercersburg has played home matches at nearby Chambersburg Country Club (which has hosted state and local championships and a number of USGA U.S. Open qualifying events) and other local courses.
