The varsity baseball team picked up its sixth win in the last seven games with a 10-3 victory over host Grace Academy (Hagerstown, MD) May 7.

The Storm took an early 3-0 lead before Grace tied it in the bottom of the third. Mercersburg responded with an RBI single from Gavin Williams '25 in the fourth to move back in front and then put the game away with three runs in the sixth and three more in the seventh.

Williams and Augie Bennett '24 had three hits and three RBI each to lead the offense while leadoff hitter Thomas Davenport '24 scored four runs. Those three also shared the pitching duties and between them recorded seven strikeouts while allowing just two earned runs.

Mercersburg takes a 10-7 overall record (7-2 MAPL) into a big MAPL doubleheader at home against Lawrenceville on Saturday, May 11 beginning at 1 pm. The Storm needs to win out in order to tie Hun (10-2) for the league title.
