Boys' V Lacrosse Advances To Commonwealth Cup Final

Mercersburg evened its boys' varsity lacrosse record with an 11-2 victory over visiting AIM Academy (Conshohocken, PA) in the semi-final of the Commonwealth Cup Division of the PAISAA state tournament May 13.

Will Donovan '25 once again paced the offense with five goals and three assists while Reed Warner '25 scored three times. Dylan Ridgway '26 picked up two goals and an assist with Thomas McNeil '25 adding one goal and Simba Nguyen '27 chipping in an assist. Defenseman Liam Glick '27 earned player of the game as he caused four turnovers, collected five ground balls, and was composed in the clearing game.

"We started slow and the weather probably had something to do with it, as our shooting was not finding the mark," commented head coach Tim Kerr. "We stuck with it and had some good possessions and found the back of the net more in the second half. We are excited that we get one more opportunity as a group to cap off a season of immense growth.  AIM played hard and made us work, but we had solid possessions, particularly in the second half. We were patient and worked for the best shot. Our defense did a good job applying the lessons from our Peddie game and did a much better job getting the ball off the ground and cleared."

The 6-6 Storm advance to take on Barrack Hebrew Academy in the championship game on Thursday, May 15 in Bryn Mawr, PA.
