Boys' V Lacrosse Downs Stronghold United

Mercersburg defeated Stronghold United Lacrosse (Greencastle, PA) 13-3 in a boys' varsity lacrosse game played on Regents' Field April 16.

Frank Bonsal '25, Simba Nguyen '27, and Will Lavan '27 each scored three goals with Bonsal adding three assists and Nguyen one. Will Donovan '25 scored twice for the Storm while Dylan Ridgway '26 and Reed Warner '25 had one goal apiece. Ridgway and Preston Zhang '27 each had one assist.

"We came out fast and tried to apply the lessons learned from the Spring Mills game," said head coach Tim Kerr. "The guys were receptive to coaching in our film sessions and it showed on the field. Jonny Nussdorfer '26 and Max Strauss '25 combined to go 14-19 at the face off dot. Ian Kim '27 and Thomas McNeil '25 dodged hard in the second half, creating quality opportunities for the offense. Ryan Burick '25 earned the player of the game for his play at long stick midfield, a position he doesn't play a ton. He hustled and made the plays he needed to."

"I'm particularly happy for the guys who continue to progress," Coach Kerr added. "They were able to play quality minutes in the game. I'm proud of their improved stickwork and ability to execute what is asked of them. We are excited for the next one!"

The next one will involve a quick turnaround as Mercersburg (2-4) travels to Buckeystown, MD to take on St. John's Catholic Prep on Thursday, April 17 at 4:30 pm.
