Boys' V Lacrosse Notches First Win

Mercersburg defeated visiting Musselman high school (Inwood, WV) 10-1 in a boys' varsity lacrosse game April 9 for the team's first victory of the season.

The Storm raced out to a 9-0 lead at halftime and was able to mix up the lineup in the second half. A well-balanced scoring attack saw Dylan Ridgway '26, Will Donovan '25, Will Lavan '27, and Reed Warner '25 each score two goals with Ridgway, Donovan, and Lavan adding one assist apiece. Cole Piraino '26 had one goal and one assist while Simba Nguyen '26 added an assist and Brayden Pearson '27 picked up his first career goal.

"It was great to get guys on the field who put forth so much effort in practice but don't get as much time during games," said head coach Tim Kerr. "Thomas McNeil '25, Ian Kim '27, Preston Zhang '27, and Khanh Nguyen '27 played hard the whole time. Simba (Nguyen) played the most solid game of his young career. I'm happy for the team as not many realize the work and effort they put in. We don't measure success purely by wins and losses. We focused on what we needed to in order to improve in the clearing and riding game especially. We're excited for the next opportunity."

That next opportunity for the 1-3 Storm will be on Friday, April 11 with a 5:30 pm home game against Spring Mills high school (Martinsburg, WV).
