Mercersburg defeated visiting Hill (Pottstown, PA) 197-214 in a girls' golf match at the Chambersburg Country Club April 5.

"It was cold and rainy," said head coach Doug Smith, "and the course was playing tough and each of the teams found the going pretty rough. Abby Yang '25 led the scoring and continued her sparkling play with a career low 40. Amanda Xi '25 overcame a couple big holes and held it together nicely for a 47 while Kelsey Li '26 fought her way to a 52. Jessica Dang '26 rounded out the scoring with a 58."

"It was a tough day out there," coach Smith continued, "but it is always nice to get a win against a MAPL opponent. We will see this team several more times throughout the season and will have to be sharper in upcoming matches. Abby has raised her game up a level and watching her consistency is fantastic."

The Storm is 2-1 with a match at Musket Ridge Country Club (Myersville, MD) against Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart (Bethesda, MD) on Wednesday, April 9 at 3:30 pm.
