Impressive Performances by Track Team at Hill

On Saturday May 3 the boys' and girls' track and field teams traveled to the Hill School to run against Hill, Perkiomen, and Pennington. Team scores were not kept, but Mercersburg dominated the top of the podium, taking first place in fifteen events.

Winners on the boys' side included Charlie Xu '26, with a time of 11.18 in the 100M Dash (and he was also second in the 200), Iman Zhakan in the 1600M Run (4:45.19), Adrian Rios '25 in the javelin (129-10), and the 4x100M Relay team of Jack Pollinger '26, Konrad Spory '26, Grant Kurmakov '25, and Noah Drenner '26. Ryan Duplessis '25 was a double winner, taking both the 200M Dash (23.08) and 400M Dash (49.72).

For the girls', Ella Blanco '26 finished first in both the 1600M Run (5:18.25) and 3200M Run (11:48.29) while Marlo Williams '25 won both the 100M Hurdles (16.80) and Javelin (107-1). Other individual winners included Anne Sehon '25 in the 800M Run (2:25.41), Bella Levina '25 in the Pole Vault (9-6), and Mary Grady '25 in the Shot Put (29-11). In addition, the 4x100M Relay team of Addie Heldman '25, Lisa Tschiesner '27, Abby Kendall '26, and Rayna Allen '27 and the 4x400M Relay team of Heldman, Sehon, Blanco, and Teresa Nyarko '28 won their races.

"It was a beautiful day to finally run against a few MAPL schools," said head coach Nikki Walker. "It was a good tune up before our home conference meet."

Mercersburg will host the MAPL Championship Meet on Saturday, May 10 at noon.
