Khan Takes 5th at Squash Tournament

Rayyan Khan '27 finished in fifth place in a Junior Championship Tournament (JCT) held at the Arlen Specter Squash Center in Philadelphia from January 18-20. Below is head coach Dominic Benacquista's summary of Khan's performance.

"Khan carried his momentum from the US Junior Open into this event, where he dominated the opening rounds by defeating the number 14 and 31 players in the nation in straight games to reach the quarterfinals against the top seed. Despite a strong effort, the number one player proved too good and ultimately won the tournament. Undeterred by his quarterfinal loss, Khan regrouped and went on to defeat the number 7 and 12 players in the nation to secure a 5th-place finish.

This result elevated Khan to 12th in the U.S. rankings after five tournaments. He now sets his sights on an even stronger performance at his home club, the Houston JCT, to cap off his U17 campaign."

The Houston tournament will take place across the weekend of February 15-17.
