Perkiomen Edges Girls' V Lacrosse

Mercersburg fought back in the second half, but ultimately fell to visiting Perkiomen (Pennsburg, PA) 14-10 in a girls' varsity lacrosse contest April 1.

The Panthers scored the first five goals of the third period to stretch a one goal lead to six (12-6), but the Storm closed the gap to 12-9 early in the fourth before Perkiomen recovered and secured the victory. Alishya Thurmond '26 scored six goals while Sarah Howley '26 had two. Chloe Allis '25 and Sammi Chepren '27 had one goal each with Allis also adding two assists. Ellie Stine '27 did a great job on defense while Lilah Weisberg '25 and Piper Mathias '26 combined for 24 saves in goal.

"It was a great effort from all," said head coach Kristin Ahlgren. "We're playing better than the game before, and that's what we need to do!"

The Storm is now 1-2 with a game at Blair Academy (Blairstown, NJ) on Saturday, April 5 at 1 pm.
