Softball Outslugs Forbes Road

The softball team moved its record back to .500 with a come-from-behind 17-7 win over visiting Forbes Road high school (Waterfall, PA) April 22.

The Cardinals led 7-2 after 1 1/2 innings, but the Storm held them scoreless after that.  Mercersburg bounced back quickly from the early deficit scoring six times in the second and adding six more in the fourth before clinching it with three runs in the bottom of the fifth to end the game early due to the 10-run rule.

Emily Guzic '28 had three hits and scored four runs while Pritz Pritzker '25 also collected three hits and drove in four runs. Kam Jenkins '26 had two hits, including a big three-run homer (she had four total RBI) to cap off the fourth inning rally. The Storm showed great patience at the plate, drawing an incredible sixteen walks in just five innings including four by Jaz Garnett '27 and three by Adi Rinker '27 (who scored three times). Peyton Appenzaller '28 and Stella Schwartz '28 shared pitching duties for Mercersburg.

The Storm is now 5-5 with a doubleheader at Blair Academy (Blairstown, NJ) on Wednesday, April 23 starting at 2 pm.
