Dylan Stiffler '24 scored all three goals as Mercersburg opened its boys' varsity soccer season with a hard-fought 3-2 win over host Martinsburg (WV) high school.

Stiffler's first score gave the Blue Storm an early lead, but the Bulldogs tied it up and the teams went into halftime knotted up at 1. Two more Stiffler goals increased the advantage to 3-1 before Martinsburg pulled within one by scoring with about five minutes to play. The final few minutes were fast-paced and frenzied, but Mercersburg held on for the 3-2 win.

Next up for the Blue Storm (1-0) is a home match against Pennington (NJ) School on Saturday, September 9 at 1 pm. That game will take place on Steiger Field.
