Max Strauss '25 scored with under five minutes to play to left Mercersburg over visiting Saint James 2-1 in a boys' varsity soccer game played at Regents' Field September 2.

After a scoreless first half, Christian Concordia '24 slipped a nifty pass to Dylan Stiffler '24, who scored to put the Blue Storm on top 1-0 just a minute into the second half. The Saints tied it up shortly after and the game remained 1-1 until Strauss drilled the game-winner into the back of the net after a scramble in front of the goal.

Mercersburg opens the regular season at Martinsburg (WV) high school on Thursday, September 7 at 5:30 pm.
