Strong Finish for Boys' Squash Players

Finn Mauro ’27 and Revant Jear ’28 wrapped up their season with a strong showing in the "PlaySquash Academy Junior Silver" tournament, a US sanctioned event held in Columbia, Maryland May 10-11. Jear secured ninth place while Mauro battled his way to an impressive fourth place finish.

In the playoff for the third/fourth place, Mauro played one of the most grueling matches of his season, going toe-to-toe with an evenly matched opponent. The match extended to a fifth-game tiebreak, with Mauro narrowly edged out 13-11 after 62 minutes (the longest match of his squash career to date).

Head coach Dominic Benacquista commented, “Both boys have shown tremendous growth throughout the season and have become key contributors to the program. Finn and Revant made significant leaps in their rankings and ratings; 10.65% and 27.30%, respectively. They committed to a tough spring training block, and it really showed in their endurance and strength on and off the ball. Now, they’ll get a well-earned break before heading into summer, and I’m excited to see what next year holds for them.”
