Tough OT Loss for Field Hockey

The varsity field hockey team fell to host Foxcroft School (Middleburg, VA) 1-0 in overtime October 16.

The Storm battled hard all day and the defense was particularly strong as goalie Grace Beard '25 came up with 17 saves. Beard was helped by Stevie Keck '26, who recorded her fourth defensive save of the season, and Pritz Pritzker '25, who controlled the defense and transferred the ball well in the role of utility player.

"Adversity was the name of the game today," said head coach Michaela Singer, "as Mercersburg was playing most of the game with only one substitute. It was a scrappy fight and Mercersburg never gave up. The defense held strong and our midfield worked hard but a goal slipped in with one minute remaining in OT. Despite the outcome, I am so proud of the heart and the tenaciousness I saw from the entire team today. We talked about the things that we need to fix and are ready implement them when we travel to Forbes Road today."

That game against Forbes Road high school (Waterfall, PA) begins at 4:30 pm on Thursday, October 17.
