Mercersburg defeated Fannett-Metal high school 3-1 in a varsity volleyball match played in Fannettsburg, PA October 18.

After winning the first set, the Blue Storm played poorly in dropping the second and then scrambled to barely take set #3. In the fourth set, Mercersburg put it all together and closed out the match with a solid win.

Head coach Amy Lyman commented, "Jaz Garnett '27 played her best game of the season with 6 service aces and strong play in the front row. Alyssa Lee '25 and Kamden Jenkins '26 were strong on defense and the entire team pulled themselves out of  horrible serving in the second set to create many points off of aces later on. It is really great to see the team fighting for points and not giving up. We are improving every time we play, and that is really all a coach can ask for."

Mercersburg is now 8-7 with a home match against the Frederick (MD) Force on Friday, October 20 at 4:30 pm.
