Mercersburg defeated host Blair Academy (Blairstown, NJ) 3-2 in a hotly contested Mid-Atlantic Prep League volleyball contest October 14.

The teams were evenly matched, but the Blue Storm outlasted the Bucs (barely) by taking the fifth and deciding set by a score of 16-14. Head coach Amy Lyman commented, "We struggled to serve receive well and missed a lot of serves, but finally got our hitting going and Blair was unable to defend against it. Alli Caretti '26 and Jaz Garnett '27 played well in the front row, Kamden Jenkins '26 gave us a lift in the back row with strong serving and defense, and Senior Captain Emily Jiang '24 carried the team, producing really consistent sets. It was a much needed win and the girls showed a lot of excitement and happiness, which was great to see."

The win evens the season record at 5-5 (1-1 MAPL) with a game at Fannett-Metal high school (Fannettburg, PA) on Wednesday, October 20 at 5 pm. Mercersburg defeated F-M 3-0 at home earlier this season.
